Commonweather, comprised by Justin Olin, Patrick Maloney, Alec Mackowiak and Jon Clark is an alternative rock band out of the Chicago area.
Their fast paced, energetic flare for rock n roll is fun to listen to and is definitely not naptime music. More like grab those you love and have a party music.
With 3 EPs under their belts, these guys really know how to rock!
Commonweather formed as a four piece rock band from the mean streets of Plainfield, IL. With influences ranging from ‘90s alternative rock to pop music, Commonweather strove to create a unique sound and honed their craft with a handful of self produced and self released EPs, cutting their teeth in the Chicago local scene along the way.
After working with the likes of Sam Pura (The Story So Far, Basement) for their 2017 EP “Nausea” and Gary Cioni (Sorority Noise, Free Throw) for the 2018 follow up “Lemon”, Commonweather discovered their niche and have been full steam ahead ever since. After a slew of successful shows in Chicago, Commonweather decided to take their show on the road in 2017. In the two years that followed, they brought their unique brand of rock and roll to countless markets across the US and Canada, making new fans at every stop.
Inspiration struck again in 2019, so they packed up the van and drove down south, to record their latest EP “Sugar Sun” with Microwave’s Nathan Hardy and Travis Hill in Atlanta, GA. As the name seems to suggest, the band’s latest endeavor is a sunny departure from the band’s previous material, beckoning a pop sensibility without losing sight of the dreary realism they have come to be known for.
